The Law imposes a five-year moratorium on destruction of green plantations in the public gardens, botanical gardens, parks, recreational forests, shore protection areas, water protection zones, etc.
To enhance national environmental policy, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine shall draft the Law on green plantations of the cities and other settlements based on the grounds of environmental balance, in compliance with the Urban Sustainable Development Concept.
The specially authorized central bodies in charge of environmental protection and their local agencies control the implementation of moratorium on the destruction of green plantations at certain facilities of the landscape gardening in Kyiv, as stated in clause 2-3 of the Law.
